CrystaLaser, founded in 1995, is a leading manufacturer of ultra-compact diode-pumped solid-state (DPSS) lasers and laser systems in broad wavelength selection including CW and Q-switched pulsed lasers. We supply the R&D and Scientific Equipment OEM markets world-wide.
D E S C R I P T I O N
CrystaLaser has an open manufacturing engineering position for our DPSS and Q-Switch laser product lines. Will have Manufacturing Floor Support and New Product Introduction (NPI) responsibilities: (1) Manufacturing Floor: Provide technical support to the manufacturing floor, train production assemblers, track leading indicators in manufacturing, and improve on-time delivery. Perform root cause analysis of product field failures, internal yield loss, and late deliveries. Maintaining test fixtures, tooling, and data systems. Assure compliance to safety and industry standards. (2) NPI: Assist in the validation and characterization of new designs. Assure new and modified products adhere to change control policies, meaning all product documentation, drawings, item masters, BOM’s, procedures, specifications are completed and loaded into the ERP system and approved for the transfer of new or revised products from R&D to Manufacturing. Design and implement new manufacturing process controls, equipment, quality inspection points, check sheets, tooling and test fixtures. Perform controlled builds during pilot production. Set up the product’s sales configurator and data files.
R E Q U I R E M E N T S
- The ideal candidate will have a BS degree or higher degree in Lasers, Electro-optics, Optics, Physics or related technical degree; have good English reading and speaking ability; and have at least 5 years experience in not only using, but also designing and building lasers. Must be detail-oriented, quality-conscious and interested in a career in lasers. Prefer experience or familiarity with world-class level manufacturing processes in areas such as change control, ISO 9001, CE compliance, Copy-Exact, lean six-sigma manufacturing, ERP (SAP Business One), IT systems, or new product introduction. Must have some electronics troubleshooting capability, or some basic mechanical design capability (AutoCAD), ability to set up test automation (C++, data acquisition, Lab View). Some supervision experience is a plus.
